Words can’t express how happy I am with my TKD Eagle. It has been in my hands pretty much all day today and every day since we got back from Tallahassee. It sounds better every day. The sound and the playability are beyond my expectations. The look is beautiful. It was well worth the 4 1/2 hour drive to the shop in Tallahassee to meet with Kyle and his lovely wife. My wife and I were treated like honored guests instead of just customers. The mandolin sold itself. As soon as I put my hands on it and played just a few notes I said “this is the one”. I didn’t need to look any further. I have gone through one mandolin after another looking for “the one”…this is it for me. The instrument I chose is the first of the third generation of Eagles. It has an upgraded tailpiece and tuners. It produces rich low tones and crisp clear highs. The setup is impeccable. The rubbed oil finish gives it a homey, friendly look. It has to be the best value for the money out there. In my estimation, Kyle is a gifted luthier.

After a couple months of research, I stumbled across the Mando shop and Kyle’s TKD line. After reading all the reviews, watching all the videos, I put in a call. We spoke for about 30 minutes, he listened intently to my mandolin history, what I was looking for in a mandolin, and unhesitatingly suggested the Eagle would be a great fit. I placed the order, received the instrument yesterday, and could not be more thrilled! It’s stunning to look at, but more importantly it is a dream to play! The set up is perfect. The tone immaculate. I love everything about it! Kyle is a true professional, and a wonderful person to do business with!

I stopped by the Mando Shop booth at IBMA in Raleigh, NC a few weeks ago and tried a couple of the F-style Eagle mandos. I immediately liked the woody tone and feel of both instruments. Couldn’t resist buying one. It’s a great mando and I’ve enjoyed playing it. Several friends have tried it and have also liked it. Good job, Kyle!
